Burn Your Candles
One of my new favorite obsessions are scented candles. During quarantine, I became obsessed with all the different scent that I could fill my home with.
Just before Christmas, I bought a set of three Homework winter-themed scented candles. They came in these beautiful glass jars and smelled just like a winter walk in the woods.
I loved them so much that I was burning them all day everyday! Until one day, I looked up and noticed that I burned them almost half-way through.
Now, I know you might be thinking, “big deal, just go buy another one.” But these are holiday themed candles that are only available for a limited time of the year!
So, I stopped burning them! I stopped burning my favorite candles because I wanted to savor them and stretch them for as long as I could.
Instead of enjoying my favorite candles, I packed them up and decided to wait for the perfect winter evening to burn my candle.
Then, I got COVID and I completely lost my sense of taste and smell!
I haven’t been able to smell my beloved candles for weeks and now they’re just sitting beautifully on my mantle…taunting me!
I believe that my senses will return, but who knows how long that could take.
I wasted time waiting for the right time, the right feeling, the right cool evening night to burn my candles, when I could have just burned and enjoyed them when I had the chance.
